Dear Juno or any other person in a similar situation, I am a high school senior at the age of 17. I have recently seen your movie, and I wanted to commend you on carrying out your pregnancy to term. I know that probably wasn't an easy decision to make especially when it came to telling your parents. I’m sure it wasn't easy to go around looking like, in your own words, “a whale”. People are cruel. However, don't think that I think you made the right decision to have unprotected sex in the first place, and I don't think you did it for the right reasons either. In the Bible, sex is described as a beautiful thing meant to happen in marriage. Although I do understand the urges for sex. I don’t believe that having sex because you are simply bored with your life on to do anything of that manor. If I were ever in your situation or one like yours,though not brought on by boredom, I would have carried the baby to full term and found a way to keep it, and if for some reason there was no possible way I could keep and raise the baby myself I’d ask for an open adoption. I would never have the heart to be able to put abort my baby. I believe that a baby is a human life at the moment of conception. The absolute only circumstance I would contemplate an abortion would be that of which my life was at risk and I already had a family of my own that needed me. I would give my life for the life of my offspring because family is family, and I firmly believe that family sticks together and fights for each other. So Juno, in the end I’m proud of the decision you made, and I am sure that your parents were proud of you as well for taking responsibility for your actions. Sincerly, Rachel
